Anaheim, California (July 14, 2006) - Extron Electronics announces the roll-out of its AV Associate Certification Program, a highly interactive, Internet based program that enables the user to gain an increased knowledge of AV technologies, as well as a basic overview of Extron's wide range of product categories and applications. It is ideal for new hires and sales personnel to get up to speed quickly with AV technologies. Students who complete these courses and pass the AV Associate exam receive an official plaque, certifying them as an Extron AV Associate. This will serve as a pre-requisite for future, advanced Extron courses and certifications.
"Increased knowledge and experience are critical factors to customers selecting a service provider," says Jim Clements, director of education and training for Extron Electronics. "Our AV Associate Certification Program allows the student to build upon their knowledge base without traveling or significantly impacting their busy work schedule." Students begin with an introduction to Extron, then proceed to the AV technologies course which includes lessons on computer-video interfacing, architectural solutions, switching and matrix switching, signal distribution and processing. The third course provides an extensive overview of Extron product categories with application-oriented descriptions of specific products. After taking the courses, students are required to pass a comprehensive exam prior to certification. Those who earn the Extron AV Associate certification can renew it annually by completing a free refresher course. All courses are provided completely online and require a computer with Internet access (IE 5.5 or higher).
