Extron Introduces the Cable Cubby® for Out-of-Sight Access to Cables and Connectors
Anaheim, California (June 12, 2002) – Extron Electronics introduces the Cable Cubby®, a convenient, cost-effective storage management solution for connectors and cables. The Cable Cubby provides inconspicuous routing of and access to AV power, data, and video connections, including Extron Architectural Adapter Plates (AAPs), storing them out of sight until needed. The Cable Cubby is designed to mount discreetly into virtually any tabletop surface; enclosures fit nearly flush with the tabletop when closed and remain unobtrusive even when in use. Half-moon cutouts in the lid enable cables to be run in or out of the Cable Cubby's base with the lid open or closed. There are four models of the Cable Cubby—the Cable Cubby 300C, Cable Cubby 300S, Cable Cubby 600, and Cable Cubby 800. Each model offers adjustable panels in its base with three sizes of hole openings to supplement a variety of cable diameters. The adjustable panels can be raised or lowered to suit cable lengths and connector types. Any of the Extron optional AAPs can be inserted in place of the panels (three for the 300 model, six for the 600 model, and eight for the 800 model). AAPs include passive and active pass-through connection points, as well as control modules. The Cable Cubby also comes with two unswitched AC power outlets for additional power support. Most models are equipped with a square bezel with the exception of the Cable Cubby 300, which is also available with a circular bezel, enabling it to be installed using a standard six inch hole saw in three easy steps. For square bezel models, Extron provides a routing guide upon request at no additional charge. All models are available in five surface top finishes to blend into any AV environment: black anodized, brushed or polished aluminum, and brushed or polished brass.
