Extron Electronics Introduces Complete Library Of Control Drivers For Samsung Professional Displays

Anaheim, California (May 5, 2004) – Extron Electronics announced today the release of a complete library of serial control drivers for the entire line of professional Samsung large-screen flat-panel displays. These new drivers are designed for use with Extron MediaLink® controllers and Extron IP Link® Ethernet control interfaces. Samsung Electronics, a major manufacturer of large-screen flat-panel displays, produces LCD displays up to 46 inches and plasma displays up to 63 inches. Extron's newest device drivers will enable local control and Web-based AV resource management of AV systems that feature Samsung displays. These systems are ideal for large training facilities, museums, airports, movie theaters, and hotels. "Samsung's association with Extron will enable system integrators to meet the demand for high quality displays along with network integration and local/remote control capabilities," explains Rey Roque, vice president for Samsung Electronics Information Systems Division. "This is also a great opportunity to increase dealer awareness of Samsung's expanded large screen display lineup and Extron's network, control, and interface technologies." "We are continuously engaged in expanding our driver libraries for the IP Link and MediaLink families of products," says Lee Dodson, vice president of marketing for Extron. "Samsung has made considerable progress in developing their professional line of display products and we are excited about releasing the complete set of drivers to help facilitate their integration into larger systems." Extron maintains over 1,600 serial and IR drivers for devices from dozens of manufacturers for use with Extron switchers and controllers.
