Extron Introduces the New P/2 DA2xi and P/2 DA2xi MT

Anaheim, California (March 10, 2003) – Extron Electronics is proud to present the P/2 DA2xi and P/2 DA2xi MT, two new compact, one input, two output, high performance distribution amplifiers (DAs). Both models come in smaller-sized, rugged, metal enclosures that can be easily installed into small, tight places. They're portable enough to fit into a briefcase for presenters on-the-go. One of the more remarkable features of the P/2 DA2xi and P/2 DA2xi MT is how they can be powered. When using a newer computer with a graphic card that complies with the VESA DDC standard, Version 3, either DA can be powered via pin 9 of the VGA connector. Of course, both DAs will also work with older computers by using the included external desktop power supply. The P/2 DA2xi and P/2 DA2xi MT are both high performance products with 350 MHz (-3dB) of RGB video bandwidth, and are compatible with VGA-UXGA graphic cards, monitors, and projectors. Gain and peaking are DIP switch-selectable and help maintain signal integrity over long distances. Both models also feature a sync output impedance DIP switch, making them compatible with virtually any projector and cable. The P/2 DA2xi MT includes stereo audio and has a 3.5 mm female jack for audio input and a captive screw connector for balanced or unbalanced stereo output. The P/2 DA2xi includes an Extron high performance detachable six foot male to male VGA cable, while the P/2 DA2xi MT includes the same cable with audio. As both the P/2 DA2xi and P/2 DA2xi MT are housed in quarter rack width enclosures, there are a variety of mounting options available to suit virtually any application or environment. With an optional VersaTools® or Universal Rack Shelf Kit, either DA can be rack-mounted alone or with three other quarter rack width AV products. There are also optional mounting kits available so the P/2 DA2xi and P/2 DA2xi MT can be mounted under a desk or next to a projector. (The P/2 DA2xi MT includes its own under-desk mount as well.)
