Extron Introduces Under-Table and Rack Mountable RGB 198 Computer-Video Interface
Anaheim, California (June 9, 2004) - Extron Electronics introduces the Extron
RGB 198, an under-table and rack-mountable computer-video interface with audio and MAAP openings. It features 300 MHz (-3 dB) RGB video bandwidth, a female 15-pin HD input, buffered local monitor output, two unswitched AC outlets (available with either Edison or Europlug), and openings for up to four Mini Architectural Adapter Plates (MAAPs). The RGB 198 is compatible with a wide variety of analog video signals, including VGA-UXGA, Mac, Sun®, and SGI signals. "We designed the RGB 198 specifically for under-table and rack mounting," says Lee Dodson, vice president of marketing for Extron. "The RGB 198 is a versatile interface with plenty of features." The RGB 198 has advanced controls for fine-tuning the image. Level and peaking control helps compensate for long transmission distances, producing a sharper image at the display. The RGB 198 also features active audio interfacing. The computer-generated, unbalanced audio is converted to balanced, line level stereo or mono audio, allowing for integration with an amplifier or sound system. There are two models available: the RGB 198 for regions with Edison (US style) power connectors and the RGB 198 EU for regions utilizing Europlug power connectors. Both models come in rugged metal enclosures and include an under-surface mounting kit. List price for the RGB 198 is $745.00.
