SMP 401 New
Multi-Channel 4K Recording and Streaming Media Processor
The SMP 401 is a high-performance all-in-one 4K/60 recording and streaming processor that easily captures, switches, scales, and distributes AV sources and presentations. It provides up to five recordings and six streams concurrently including flexible two-window layouts and full screen views. The SMP 401 captures a variety of sources from three HDMI inputs, two RTP/RTSP virtual inputs, and an optional 12G-SDI input. The front panel LCD screen enables video preview for confidence monitoring, and simple menu navigation for easy configuration.
The SMP 401 is ideal for use in virtually any professional installation that captures several AV sources at up to 4K/60 resolutions and produces multiple high-quality recordings with live streaming to popular third-party platforms. This includes lecture capture and HyFlex learning, government and healthcare training, courtrooms, and command and control centers.
Customized Recordings and Streams
The SMP 401 can capture up to four video sources to produce multiple recordings and streams. From local sources it produces full screen views or any two-window layouts; one local source captured from Channel A and one from Channel B. Additionally, up to two independent virtual inputs can be captured and output as full screen recordings and streams.
- At 1080p/60 the SMP 401 delivers up to 5 recordings and 6 streams.
- At 4K/30 the SMP 401 delivers up to 4 recordings and 4 streams.
- At 4K/60 the SMP 401 delivers up to 3 recordings and 3 streams.
Independent Video Encoding
The SMP 401 powerful processing enables the use of independent H.264 and H.265 video codecs per encoder. H.265 offers high quality video at lower size files for optimized storage and less bandwidth. H.264 is a widely supported codec used by many third-party video platforms. The ability to select different video encoding provides improved performance, quality, efficiency, and future-proofing of video workflows.
Enhanced DSP with Independent Audio Mixing
The SMP 401 audio DSP features enable customized AV content with independent audio signals. Users can choose their audio source from either analog or digital audio captured on Channel A, Channel B, or a blend of signals from both channels. It supports line or microphone level audio signals and an internal pre-amplifier provides selectable +48 V phantom power for two microphones.
Content Management and Publishing Options
The SMP 401 supports direct integration with popular enterprise video platforms including Kaltura, Panopto, YuJa, and Opencast. It also streams RTMP and RTMPS to popular third-party content delivery networks such as YouTube, Facebook Live, Twitch, and Wowza.
AV Recording with Enhanced Data
The SMP 401 produces an MP4 (M4V) container format, which is compatible with virtually any media player. It records at up to 4K/60 resolutions, supporting a variety of quality, storage, and playback requirements. Recordings can be saved to internal solid-state storage, a USB storage device, or a defined network storage directory. USB storage devices connect easily to the SMP 401 from the front or rear panel USB ports at write speeds up to 5Gbps.

SMP 111
Single Channel H.264 Streaming Media Processor
The SMP 111 is a high performance recording and streaming processor for capturing and distributing AV sources and presentations as live streaming and recorded media. The SMP 111 accepts an HDMI signal with embedded audio and an analog audio signal. Extron high performance scaling and flexible signal processing enable superior display of content of varying resolutions from computers and HDTV sources. The SMP 111 supports extensive streaming capabilities, it can record and stream simultaneously, with independent resolutions and bit rates using a range of transport protocols and session management options. Recording with the SMP 111 provides easy capture of live HDMI signals to an internal flash drive and external USB drives. Requiring no licensing fees, the SMP 111 is a compact, flexible, and cost-effective solution for streaming and recording content.
Optional RCP 101 Series remote control panels can extend both front panel control as well as USB connectivity for thumb drive recording media. Available in decorator-style, MK, and EU versions; the EU version is compatible with Flex55 enclosures. The included USB and power cables from the SMP 111 provide up to 15 feet (4.5 meters) of extension to the transport controls and USB port. Alternately, a USB extension such as Extron’s USB Extender Plus series can provide up to 330 feet (100 meters) between the remote control panel and the SMP 111.

A Horizontal Video Mirroring LinkLicense upgrade adds powerful features to the SMP 111 Streaming Media Processor. The expanded functionality enhances and streamlines the recording of video and audio presentations. Horizontal Video Mirroring flips video horizontally to support lightboard or other applications that require reversal of the video image due to the presenter facing the camera while writing on a transparent surface. This eliminates time and resources spent manually flipping the video in post-production.

SMP 352
Dual Recording H.264 Streaming Media Processor
The SMP 352 is high performance streaming and recording processors for capturing and distributing AV sources and presentations as live streaming and recorded media. Easily stream to Wowza, YouTube, Twitch, Vimeo and more with the RTMP streaming protocol. Apply RTMP push streaming with stream name or key and user authentication in unicast or multicast streaming applications to extend live presentations or events to reach much larger audiences. Streaming to Facebook Live is also supported using the RTMPS streaming protocol, and the SMP automatically adjusts for this protocol to deliver a consistent user experience. Virtual Input support for network-based streaming sources enables the ability to ingest up to two additional RTP/RTSP push/pull streams and record each stream into a separate file. Users can directly record up to 4 inputs, including IP cameras and other encoded sources for recording and streaming.
SMP 352 also supports SDI audio de-embedding to decode audio from SDI sources for inclusion in audio mixes along with HDMI or analog sources. They incorporate Extron's FlexOS®, a flexible platform for automating system operation. Accepting HDMI, component, composite, and optional 3G-SDI signals, SMP 352 can record and stream simultaneously and can stream at two different resolutions and bit rates concurrently using a range of transport protocols and session management options.
