West Hartford, Conn. and Anaheim, Calif. (March 19, 2004) — The Wiremold Company has introduced the first flush poke-thru device that supports audio/video connectivity from Extron® Electronics, a leading manufacturer of audio visual system integration products. The Walker® AV3 Series poke-thru device provides open space power and data/communications connections — and now AV connectivity — in new and renovated buildings, including educational, office, commercial, and institutional facilities.
The AV3 Series poke-thru from The Wiremold Company accepts Extron® MAAP Architectural Series products that support video, audio, control, and voice and data connectors as well as active modules such as VGA line drivers, audio buffers, and twisted pair transmitters. This poke-thru device is ideal for educational, office, commercial, and institutional facilities in new construction and retrofit.
The Walker AV3 Series poke-thru accepts a wide variety of Extron MAAP Series mini architectural adapter plates for video, audio, control, voice and data connectors as well as active modules such as VGA line drivers, audio buffers, and twisted pair transmitters. The AV3 Series poke-thru also offers a 20-amp duplex receptacle and the capability for modular data/communications jacks. Poke-thru devices are the system of choice for renovation and retrofit because they enable wiring and cabling to be located virtually anywhere on the floor plan using core-drilled slab openings. The AV3 Series poke-thru incorporates fire stopping material into the fitting itself, guaranteeing that each penetration maintains the slab's fire rating. Exclusive TopGuard™ protection ensures that the AV3 Series poke-thru device meets and exceeds UL standards for scrub water exclusion on carpet and tile floors. These standards are designed to ensure that water does not enter the device during routine maintenance, such as wet mopping and carpet shampooing. The Walker AV3 Series poke-thru device is UL Listed and UL Fire Classified to U.S. and Canadian standards for tile, terrazzo, carpet, and wood covered floors.
