Overview

The MLC 62 RS D is an easy-to-use keypad controller for use in classrooms and meeting facilities. It mounts to a decorator-style wallplate and offers eight backlit soft touch buttons for a contemporary look and feel. The MLC 62 RS D provides control capabilities for common AV functions including power, input switching, and volume control. The MLC 62 RS D provides RS-232 serial and IR ports for universal display control. In addition, a digital input and two relays are included for monitoring and controlling other systems in the room.

Provide a one gang decorator-style button panel controller for switching and control of AV equipment
1. Mountable button panel controller for AV and control systems
  1. Device shall have a total of eight fully configurable soft touch LED backlit buttons, four dedicated for input selection, two dedicated for volume control and the remaining two dedicated for power control arranged in a logical order
    1. Buttons shall illuminate white when active and should have the ability to flash
    2. Input source buttons shall be able to be configured for either a single or dual function setup by simply swapping out the bezel and buttons with an optional bezel kit
    3. Button text shall be able to be customized by selected from pre-packaged kits or may be ordered individually
  2. Device shall have five LEDs, arranged horizontally located just above the volume buttons that shall provide visual feedback of the volume level in a system
  3. Device shall support the creation of IR drivers by capturing IR commands from handheld remotes. IR receiver shall be located behind the decorator-style faceplate of the controller
  4. Device shall feature a mini female USB B Port that shall be located behind the decorator-style faceplate of the controller that shall allow for device configuration
  5. Device shall feature a mini female USB B Port that shall be located on the left side of the controller that shall allow for device configuration
  6. Device shall feature a host port on captive screw connectors located on the back of the panel for that shall allow for device configuration
  7. Device shall support one digital input on captive screw connector located on the back of the controller that can be used to interface with devices such as sensors, switches, and relays
  8. Device shall have two normally open low voltage relays on captive screw connectors that can be configured to control lighting, screen control or other device functions
  9. Device shall have one configurable IR/Serial port on captive screw connector located on the back of the controller. This port shall allow the transmission of IR signals (using an IR emitter) or unidirectional RS-232 communications for control of AV system components
  10. Device shall have a configurable unidirectional RS-232 port on captive screw connector located on the back of the panel for universal display control
  11. Device shall have a 12 volt captive screw connection located on the back of the panel that will be used to power the panel using an included universal power supply
  12. Device shall provide audible feedback from the built-in speaker by beeping when a button is pressed
  13. Device shall be Section 508 Compliant and shall meet or exceed accessibility standards for Electronic Information Technology
  14. Device shall include both black and white one gang wall frames
  15. Optional bezel kits shall be available for customizing the total number of buttons at either six or eight depending on the user’s application
2. Mounting requirements
  1. Device shall have the ability to be mounted directly in a wall, lectern, or other flat surface and shall be able to be secured using the supplied mud ring and hardware
  2. Device shall have the ability to be mounted to the surface of a wall using an optional wall box
  3. Device shall have the ability to be mounted into a rack using an optional rack mount kit
