The Extron DTP DVI 301 is a transmitter and receiver set for long distance transmission of DVI-D video plus bidirectional control signals over a shielded CATx cable. For added flexibility and convenience, separate analog stereo audio signals can also be transmitted on a second shielded twisted pair cable. It is capable of sending 1920x1200, 1080p/60 Deep Color, and 2K signals up to 330 feet (100 meters). The transmitter is equipped with a buffered DVI loop-through output to support a local computer monitor. The compact enclosure sizes and remote powering of either unit make the DTP DVI 301 ideal for extending DVI-D and bidirectional control in space-challenged environments.

The DTP DVI 301 enables the reliable, long distance transmission of DVI-D signals and is fully compatible with HDMI signals when used with the appropriate DVI-HDMI adapters from Extron. The twisted pair extender can transmit HDMI signals, supporting Deep Color up to 12-bit, CEC, and embedded HD lossless audio formats. In addition, DDC communication of EDID and HDCP is continuously maintained between a source and the local or remote display, ensuring direct compatibility and optimal signal transmission between devices.

The twisted pair extender provides other convenient, integrator-friendly features designed to help simplify installation. The DTP DVI 301 supports simultaneous transmission of bidirectional RS-232 and IR signals from a control system, providing remote control to source equipment or remote displays. Also, either device can be remotely powered over the original shielded twisted pair cable, allowing both devices to share one external power supply.

The DTP DVI 301 can be used as a point-to-point solution or integrated with a switching and distribution system to extend inputs or outputs to remote locations. The transmitter and receiver are housed in 1" (2.5 cm) high, quarter rack width metal enclosures. The low profile design of the DTP DVI 301 allows for discreet placement beneath tables or behind flat-panel displays.

Extron recommends Extron-certified XTP DTP 24 shielded twisted pair cable, shielded RJ-45 plugs, jacks, and couplers engineered for optimum signal transmission with Extron DTP Series products. The XTP DTP 24 cable is certified to 475 MHz, and utilizes a SF/UTP design with four unshielded 24 AWG twisted pair conductors inside an overall braid and foil shield for superior performance and noise immunity.

Supports computer-video to 1920x1200, including HDTV 1080p/60 Deep Color and 2K — The DTP DVI 301 supports digital signal transmission up to 330 feet over a shielded twisted pair cable and maintains superior image quality at the highest resolutions.

Compatible with CATx shielded twisted pair cable — The DTP DVI 301 fully supports a maximum transmission distance of 330 feet (100 meters) for all compatible resolutions when used with CATx shielded twisted pair cable. Shielded twisted pair cabling with solid center conductor sizes of 24 AWG or better is recommended for optimal performance.

Transmits separate analog stereo audio signals — Utilization of a second shielded twisted pair cable enables direct connection of separate stereo audio signals from Blu-ray Disc players, laptops, or other devices. The DTP DVI 301 receiver can output balanced/unbalanced audio, allowing streamlined integration within an AV system.

DVI input loop-through — The DTP DVI 301 transmitter features a DVI-D output for connection to a local monitor.

Supports EDID and HDCP transmission — DDC channels are actively buffered, allowing pass-through of EDID and HDCP information to either the local or remote display, for continuous communication between source and display.

DDC routing to local or remote display — Gives the option of which display receives the EDID and HDCP information.

Bidirectional RS-232 and IR control pass-through — Bidirectional RS-232 control and IR signals can be transmitted alongside the video signal, allowing the remote display to be controlled without the need for additional cabling.

Remote powering of transmitter or receiver — For simplified installation, only one power supply is necessary to power both devices.

Supported HDMI specification features include data rates up to 6.75 Gbps, Deep Color up to 12-bit, 3D, HD lossless audio formats, and CEC

Compatible with DTP HDMI 301 — Enables matching device connectivity needs and mixing of transmitters and receivers to meet application requirements.

LED indicator for signal presence and power — Provides visual indication of system status from transmitter and receiver locations for real-time feedback and monitoring of key performance parameters.

RJ-45 signal and link status LED indicator for DTP port — Provides a means for validating signal flow and operation from transmitter to receiver, allowing quick identification of connectivity issues.

Supports HDMI signals when used with optional Extron DVI-HDMI adapters — Supports HDMI embedded audio and CEC - Consumer Electronics Control signal transmission.
