The J2KENC JPEG 2000 Encoder Software allows users to prepare HD or 2K video and multichannel audio content for playback in Extron JMP 9600 media players. J2KENC software provides basic encoding functionality while the J2KENC PRO provides higher speed processing plus more editing and encoding tools. Both software applications operate on Microsoft® Windows® computing platforms. This software allows preparation of content for playback on the JMP 9600 without the need for external encoding services.
JPEG 2000 encoding software constructs visually lossless MXF wrapped Digital Cinema Package - DCP - files. The DCP files include video, audio, and other associated data prepared to comply with the Digital Cinema Initiatives - DCI - requirements for unencrypted content. DCP files generated by JPEG 2000 encoding software are transferred to JMP 9600 high resolution video players for playback across a LAN connection using FTP - File Transfer Protocol.
Extron J2KENC and J2KENC PRO encoder software support a wide range of standard and non-standard video formats, including those frequently encountered in special venue, large-format projection applications. Support for a wide variety of formats provides the freedom to prepare content that will be compatible with JMP 9600 players and deliver optimal quality for different display technologies. Image encoding parameters include: resolution, frame rate, color space, bit depth, and color sampling.
J2KENC PRO software supports multi-core processing and server farm operation, offering increased encoding efficiency and speed.
Contact an Extron representative to obtain the J2KENC and J2KENC PRO software. They will be downloaded from an Extron FTP site. An Extron representative will assist with licensing the J2KENC PRO software.
