The Extron MP 101 Microphone Preamplifier is a compact mic preamp for applications where a microphone must be connected to a line level audio input on a device such as a switcher or line level mixer. Mic level signals are boosted up to balanced or unbalanced line level signals. This preamp also allows a microphone to be connected to the Aux/Mix input on the Extron MediaLink® series of switchers.

The front panel of the MP 101 features a continuous gain control for precise adjustment of input microphone level. Toggle switches are provided to engage 48 volt phantom power for compatibility with condenser microphones, and a switchable low cut filter at 75 Hz to reduce rumble and wind noise picked up by the microphone. Input and output connections are provided on the rear panel using captive screw connectors.

The MP 101's output can be remotely controlled for microphone level adjustment by using the VCM 100 or VCM 200 Series volume and mute or VC 50 volume controllers. The MP 101 is housed in a 1U, one-eighth rack width metal enclosure for numerous installation options.

Precise mic input gain adjustment from +25 to +72 dB — A continuous, rotary trim pot allows for precise setting of microphone input gain from +25 to +72 dB to accommodate various microphone signal levels.

Remote volume and mute control port — In basic installations without control systems, this port allows the MP 101 to be remotely controlled using the optional Extron VCM 100 or VCM 200 Volume and Mute Controller or VC 50 Volume Controller.

Selectable 75 Hz low cut filter — Reduces rumble and wind noise.

Rack-mountable 1U, one-eighth rack width metal enclosure

External Extron Everlast™ power supply included, replacement part #70-1175-01 — Provides worldwide power compatibility with high‑demonstrated reliability and low power consumption. This power supply is compatible with the ZipClip 50 Mounting Kit.

Extron Everlast Power Supply is covered by a 7‑year parts and labor warranty
