The Extron MP 101 D Microphone Preamplifier is a compact mic preamp for applications where a microphone must be connected to a line level audio input on a device such as a switcher or line level mixer. Mic level signals are boosted up to balanced or unbalanced line level signals. This preamp also allows a microphone to be connected to the Aux/Mix input on the Extron MediaLink® series of switchers.

The front panel of the MP 101 D features a microphone input on an XLR connector and a continuous gain control that can be concealed. The rear panel features a captive screw connector for the output, and slide switches for 48 volt phantom power for compatibility with condenser microphones, and a switchable low cut filter at 75 Hz to reduce rumble and wind noise picked up by the microphone.

The MP 101 D's output can be remotely controlled for microphone level adjustment by using the VCM 100 or VCM 200 Series volume and mute or VC 50 volume controllers. The MP 101 D is designed for wall or lectern mounting with the included decorator-style wallplate, and can be installed with or without a one-gang electrical box.

Recessed front panel gain pot with security cap — A continuous, rotary trim pot allows for precise setting of microphone input gain from +25 to +72 dB to accommodate various microphone signal levels. The pot is recessed on the front panel and can be concealed with a security cap to prevent unauthorized use.

Remote volume and mute control port — In basic installations without control systems, this port allows the MP 101 D to be remotely controlled using the optional Extron VCM 100 or VCM 200 Volume and Mute Controller or VC 50 Volume Controller.

XLR input for direct microphone connection

Selectable 75 Hz low cut filter — Reduces rumble and wind noise.

Mounts in an included decorator-style wallplate — The MP 101 D can be installed with a one-gang electrical box or Extron MR 100 Mud Ring, part # 70-519-12.

External Extron Everlast™ power supply included, replacement part #70-1175-01 — Provides worldwide power compatibility with high‑demonstrated reliability and low power consumption. This power supply is compatible with the ZipClip 50 Mounting Kit.
