The Extron RGB 580xi is a universal, computer-video interface designed to give users discreet, remote access to interface connections and controls. It provides high-performance computer-video interfacing features for use in applications where the interface needs to be located out of sight.

The RGB 580xi is compatible with VGA-QXGA, Mac, Sun^®, SGI^®, and other computer-video signals. It has a horizontal frequency range of 15-150 kHz and 300 MHz (-3 dB) RGB video bandwidth. It outputs RGBHV, RGBS, and RGsB on five female BNCs. The RGB 580xi features Extron's exclusive ADSP™ - Advanced Digital Sync Processing, which provides all-digital sync processing so stable images are produced on digital projectors and flat panel displays. Audio interfacing converts computer-generated, unbalanced audio to line level balanced audio.

ADSP™ - Advanced Digital Sync Processing — An exclusive Extron technology that conditions sync signals to provide reliable operation with a variety of signal sources and display types. ADSP reshapes the sync signals, restores proper TTL voltage levels, and maintains the original video to sync timing relationships while allowing centering control.

DDSP™ - Digital Display Sync Processing — Allows the sync signal to pass through without altering sync pulse or width. Disables other sync processing features such as horizontal and vertical centering.

Automatic sync stripping from red, green, and blue — Strips the sync off the input signal while allowing H and V sync output, even if the input signal is RGBS, RGsB or RsGsBs.

Active PC audio to balanced audio interfacing — Converts computer-generated, unbalanced audio to balanced line level stereo audio for output on a captive screw connector.

Variable level and peaking control — Variable level and peaking control is available to compensate for fuzzy images and streaking associated with cable resistance and system bandwidth losses.

Horizontal shift control — Shifts the displayed image left or right on the display screen. Also called "horizontal centering".
