The Extron USBC Pro Series of active, hybrid optical-copper USB‑C® cables simultaneously transmits USB data up to 5 Gbps, DisplayPort AV, and power over distances up to 30 feet. The cables are also compatible with previous USB standards. These full-featured cables support 4K/30 video and audio on two DisplayPort lanes. In addition, these cables support bidirectional USB Power Delivery of up to 60 watts. The ultra-flexible, 0.26" (6.5 mm) thin diameter and narrow bend radius cable construction allow for installation in tight spaces. These active cables are unidirectional and can draw power from either connected USB device. The USBC Pro Series cables are ideal for transmitting data at USB rates of 5 Gbps.

The USBC Pro Series offers the benefits of fiber optics with the simplicity of traditional copper cables. Providing the best combination of price and performance, this cabling solution is ideal for sending USB data, AV, and power signals over long cable runs while maintaining full signal integrity and providing reliable operation to support mission-critical applications.

USBC Pro cables use glass, multimode optical fiber to transmit bidirectional USB data up to 5 Gbps, 4K/30 DisplayPort video, and embedded audio signals. Built‑in active circuitry converts the incoming electrical signal into an optical signal on one end, and back into an electrical signal on the opposite end. The cable circuitry draws minimal power which it receives from either the connected USB host or USB peripheral device. All other non-bandwidth intensive or low-speed signals are carried on the integrated copper wires, including legacy USB data rates, EDID, HDCP, and power. The cables allow for power requirement negotiations between connected USB devices that support Power Delivery - USB PD. This enables either the host or the peripheral device to deliver power. For example, a self-powered display charges a laptop connected at the host end of the cable.

For easy identification and cable orientation, a blue-colored ring encircles the host connector neck and connector ends are molded with descriptive text to indicate source and display directionality.

Comparable SM Series Show Me® cables are available. Show Me cables feature an integrated button on the source connector and a three-conductor pigtail on the opposite end to enable source selection when used with a switcher having contact closure remote control.
