The Extron XTP T MK 202 is a compact, two-input transmitter that sends HDMI or VGA video, audio, and control up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a shielded CATx cable. The XTP® transmitter is compatible with standard two-gang MK-type junction boxes for convenient installation in wall-mount environments. It supports computer and video resolutions up to 1920x1200, including 1080p/60 with Deep Color and 2K. Incoming analog video signals are digitized for reliable transmission, and separate analog stereo audio transmissions can be embedded onto the output signal. Features include automatic switching between inputs with selectable prioritization and insertion of bidirectional RS-232 and IR to enable remote AV device control. Designed for XTP Systems®, the XTP T MK 202 can be remotely powered by the XTP CrossPoint® matrix switcher.
The XTP T MK 202 provides signal extension from remote sources for high performance transmission of video, audio, and bidirectional control over long distances. Video source signals may be HDMI or VGA video format, with analog video signals digitized for reliable enterprise-wide distribution. To streamline operations, the transmitter features auto-switching between inputs and RS-232 remote control for easy operation in unmanaged wall-mount locations. Switching priority is configurable when multiple inputs are active.
The transmitter features Extron technologies to enhance and simplify integration of HDMI-enabled devices. For encrypted content, Key Minder® authenticates and maintains HDCP encryption between devices to ensure quick and reliable signal distribution. In addition, EDID Minder® automatically manages EDID by maintaining continuous EDID communication with sources, ensuring that all sources power up properly and reliably transmit content to the destination.
The XTP T MK 202 is compatible with a broad range of multi-channel audio signals. For digital audio, the HDMI inputs enable transmission of embedded audio or separate analog stereo audio signals. This feature enables direct connection of separate stereo audio signals from a laptop, Blu-ray Disc player, or other device. In addition, the transmitter provides selectable analog stereo audio input embedding. Embedding stereo audio into the signal stream provides support of balanced/unbalanced stereo audio for extended transmission, reducing the number of cable runs to the destination. The transmitter also provides audio input gain and attenuation control plus volume adjustment to manage the audio signals from source endpoints. These features enable the output volume level to be set, eliminating noticeable volume differences when switching between sources.
The unique form factor of the transmitter provides simplified input connectivity through MK-type junction boxes, offering convenient input locations within configurable rooms and space-constrained applications. The remote power capabilities, reduced cabling needs, and junction box mountable design of the XTP T MK 202 allow for discreet placement in a wide variety of environments.
Extron recommends Extron-certified XTP DTP 24 shielded twisted pair cable, shielded RJ-45 plugs, jacks, and couplers engineered for optimum signal transmission with Extron XTP Systems. The XTP DTP 24 cable is certified to 475 MHz, and utilizes a SF/UTP design with four unshielded 24 AWG twisted pair conductors inside an overall braid and foil shield for superior performance and noise immunity.
Extron XTP Systems
Extron XTP Systems provide a completely integrated switching and distribution solution for multiple digital and analog formats. They support local connectivity as well as extended transmission capability for sending high resolution video, audio, RS‑232, and Ethernet up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a shielded CATx cable and even greater distances over fiber optic cabling. Each system is HDCP compliant and delivers ultra‑fast, highly reliable digital switching with Extron's SpeedSwitch® Technology.
At the heart of a system is an XTP CrossPoint matrix switcher. The modular matrix switchers are expandable from 4x4 to 64x64, depending on frame size, and can be populated with a wide variety of XTP I/O matrix boards. Input and output boards provide direct HDMI, SDI, DVI, VGA, video, and audio connections to local sources and displays, and signal extension to remote endpoints when using XTP transmitters and receivers. The matrix switcher can also provide power to a remote XTP device over CATx cabling, depending on transmitter model.
The online XTP System Builder gives convenient access for complete system design. The tool also features a printable bill of materials, pricing, and quote submittal. Once the order is confirmed and received, the included XTP System Configuration Software enables easy setup and configuration right out of the box.
To configure, operate, and monitor the system in real time, user-friendly control software offers a complete view of all XTP devices from a computer. With hot‑swappable modular components, a wide selection of XTP transmitters and receivers, and advanced 24/7 system monitoring, XTP Systems are designed to provide continuous, trouble‑free operation in the most critical applications.
