Extron Introduces New IN1508 Scaling Presentation Switcher
Anaheim, California (February 1, 2006) - Extron Electronics is pleased to announce the
IN1508, a new scaling presentation switcher. The IN1508 is an economical, eight input AV switcher that also provides high quality upscaling and downscaling for a wide variety of input sources, including high resolution RGB computer-video, HDTV, and standard definition video. It features picture-in-picture (PIP) and seamless switching between RGB and video inputs. Combining a multi-input switcher and high performance scaler in one device, the IN1508 is ideally suited for single-display presentation environments such as classrooms, small conference rooms, and boardrooms.
"The IN1508 combines multiple input switching and format flexibility with scaler functionality, and delivers a high performance, one-box solution for single-display systems," says Lee Dodson, vice president of marketing for Extron. "Additional features such as PIP and seamless switching further enhance operation to provide a complete, easy-to-use switching system." The IN1508 provides smooth, high performance AV switching between up to eight input sources, including two S-video, one component video (standard or high definition), one DVI-D (Digital Visual Interface), and two RGB computer-video. Audio switching is provided for each input source with independent gain and attenuation control. The IN1508 offers high performance scaling for all popular video formats including video, HDTV, and high resolution computer-video. It features 29 selectable output rates, including RGB computer-video up to UXGA (1600 x 1200) and HDTV 1080p. For more enhanced, professional presentations, the IN1508 includes seamless switching between video and RGB inputs with selectable cut or fade transitions. A PIP mode allows a video source and an RGB source to be shown on one display. Several PIP presets are available, including side-by-side windows, and the PIP window can be dynamically positioned anywhere in the image. For integrator and user friendly access, the IN1508 includes on-screen display, and can be operated via the front panel, RS-232, or the included IR remote control
