Lobby or Foyer
Overview
This lobby features a single display that can be used for digital signage or for watching HDTV sources. There is a touchpanel adjacent to the TV allowing the display to be powered on and off. Input switching between a cable TV HD tuner and Graphic Still Store is desired. When the cable TV HD tuner is selected, the control system will be ready to switch channels and adjust the volume in the room. Additionally the display can be scheduled to turn on and off during non-working hours and may be monitored in the event of attempted theft.

Special Requirements
During normal business hours, the GSS 100, Graphic Still Store will play the content stored on that device after 30 minutes of system inactivity. The system should automatically power the system ON and OFF at the start and end of each business day as well as monitor the status of the attached LCD display. Additionally, the IT department wants to make sure the system is powered on and is connected during business hours and would like to be notified via e-mail should any of those conditions not be met.
System Design Solution
Control System Configuration
This system requires the basic capabilities of Global Configurator, including: Certified Drivers, Monitors.
Free GlobalViewer ® will be used to monitor this kiosk and other Extron control products.
Control System
An IPCP 305 will serve as the core of this system and will be capable of controlling the display, the Graphic Still Store, and the cable TV HD tuner, as well as the volume of the amplifier. There will be a TLP 350MV TouchLink ™ Touchpanel mounted in the wall adjacent to the display that will serve as the interface to this system and from there the user will be able to select between the cable TV HD tuner and the Graphic Still Store. Additionally, when the cable TV HD tuner is selected, they should be able to switch channels and adjust the volume of the content being played back. There will also be an occupancy sensor in the room that will be used to notify the control processor if the room is unoccupied.
Sources
The two sources within this system are an Extron AVT 200HD Cable TV HD Tuner and an Extron GSS 100 Graphic Still Store. Both of these sources will be directly connected to the display.
Displays
There will be a single 55" LCD display with two high resolution inputs for both the Extron AVT 200HD Cable TV HD Tuner and the Extron GSS 100 Graphic Still Store to be connected simultaneously. Additionally the display will be RS-232 controllable to allow the designation of inputs based on the user’s interaction with the touchpanel or to shut down the display whenever the room is unoccupied.
Audio
The audio from the Extron AVT 200HD Cable TV HD Tuner will be played back through the Extron MPA 152 Stereo Power Amplifier and the Extron SI 3C LP Ceiling Speakers. Volume control of the amplifier will be made possible by using the Extron MLA VC10 Plus Volume Control Module using the Extron TLP 350MV as the interface.
