Extron Introduces New IPL T S1 Ethernet Control Interface

Anaheim, California (February 1, 2006) - Extron Electronics announces the IPL T S1 Ethernet Control Interface, the newest member of its IP Link® Series. Designed for extending network capabilities to an AV device using an existing RS-232 serial port, the IPL T S1 includes Extron IP Link® technology, with an integrated Web server, full Ethernet compatibility, and e-mail capability.

The IP Link technology built into the IPL T S1 enables remote monitoring and troubleshooting of projectors, flat panel displays, switchers, and other serially controlled products. "With its compact size and powerful features, the IPL T S1 fills the need for a simple to use and economical serial-to-IP interface," says Lee Dodson, vice president of marketing for Extron. "It is ideal for AV systems in small classrooms and meeting rooms, as well as digital signage applications in airports, museums, and hotels." The IPL T S1 features a low profile, plenum-rated enclosure with one 9-pin D-sub serial port. In addition, the IPL T S1 supports Extron's GlobalViewer® software, a free Web application with robust features including multiple room views, real-time device status, e-mail notification, theft alerts, and event scheduling. The GlobalViewer Web application stored on the IPL T S1 can be viewed using Internet Explorer version 6.0 or higher from any computer with access to the network.
