The 8K Data Rate Calculator is an online tool designed to assist you during the system design phase as well as the installation and setup phase. The basic calculator lets you quickly identify the maximum digital data rate that must be supported by cables, scalers, or other system components based on your selected resolution, refresh rate, color bit depth, and chroma sampling. In advanced mode, many additional SMPTE/CTA/DCI and VESA resolutions are available, along with timing parameters and aspect ratio displayed as both a diagram and a table. A printable diagram showing the timing parameters, video data rate, and aspect ratio can be generated based on a selected standard, refresh rate, resolution and color depth.
