Extron Debuts New Online Design Tools

Anaheim, California (February 13, 2004) - Choosing the right architectural products for any AV installation just got a great deal easier thanks to two new interactive online tools from Extron Electronics: the Extron Architectural Adapter Plate (AAP) Selector and the Extron Finish Selector.

AAP Selector Extron AAPs and MAAPs (Mini Architectural Adapter Plates) are passive connector mounting plates and active control modules designed to work with Extron mounting frames and other products that feature AAP or MAAP openings. The new online AAP Selector allows users to sort AAPs and MAAPs by connector or signal type to find the right products for their needs. Users can also view all different mounting options available and choose the ones that best suit their specific environment. Finish Selector The new Extron Finish Selector is a unique interactive tool that allows users to select the appropriate finish for their specific application. The Finish Selector simulates a bird's eye view of installed Extron Hideaway Surface Access (HSA) and Cable Cubby® products along with various wood finishes. Whether the tabletop is maple, oak, beech, cherry, mahogany, walnut, or ebony, users can easily approximate how each product will look when installed. Hideaway® Surface Access (HSA) and Cable Cubby products from Extron provide inconspicuous access to computer-video interfaces, connectors, cables, and controls. These products are designed for easy mounting into virtually any table surface and are available in two standard finishes: black anodized or brushed aluminum. Brushed brass and polished aluminum are also available via special order and will require a longer lead time. According to Lee Dodson, Extron's Vice president of Marketing, "Whether a system designer plans to use AAPs or the smaller format MAAPs, the AAP Selector is great for sifting through the myriad of connector and control options available. And the Extron Finish Selector allows users to see how an installed HSA or Cable Cubby will look before any holes are cut in a tabletop."
