Extron Introduces New Audio Summing Products

Anaheim, California (December 12, 2003) – Extron Electronics is pleased to announce the ASA 101 Audio Summing Adapter and the ASA 204 and ASA 304 Audio Summing Amplifiers. These three products are specially designed to convert two-channel stereo audio signals to balanced or unbalanced one-channel mono audio. Inserted between a stereo audio output and a mixer or preamplifier input, the ASA Series is ideal for use with distributed audio sound systems in churches, halls, arenas, stadiums, and other environments. "The ASA Series provides the necessary audio tools for everyday applications," says Lee Dodson, vice president of marketing for Extron. "These products also underscore Extron's commitment to expanding our growing line of audio solutions." The ASA 101 is a passive converter that includes a transformer. This isolates the signal source from the load and provides the balanced output. The ASA 204 and ASA 304 are high performance, active products that each offer four independent, active audio summing amplifiers in a single enclosure. These summing amplifiers can convert stereo audio signals to mono audio signals. A switch-selectable gain feature allows the ASA 204 and ASA 304 to achieve different output gain levels. The difference between the two models is the ASA 204 accepts unbalanced stereo input signals on RCA connectors and the ASA 304 accepts balanced or unbalanced stereo input signals on captive screw connectors. Both the ASA 204 and ASA 304 output balanced or unbalanced mono signals on captive screw connectors. All products are available now.
