Audio over IP Connectivity: Simplified
AXI Series Dante and AES67 Audio Expansion Interfaces
Easily Provide Audio Systems with Local or Remote AoIP Connectivity
The AXI Dante® audio expansion interfaces integrate mic/line sources onto a Dante-enabled audio system. They are connected into a Dante network over Ethernet using standard IP networking protocols, avoiding the effort and expense of pulling long analog cables back to the AV rack. With their small form factor, they can be easily mounted in tight spaces.
The AXI 22 AT and AXI 44 AT are quarter rack width audio interfaces for integrating mic/line sources onto a Dante-enabled audio system, and for distributing line level audio from a Dante-enabled audio system. They feature two or four mic/line inputs with selectable input gain and switchable 48 volt phantom power, controllable from the front panel. Input gain, output attenuation and phantom power can also be remotely controlled.
The AXI 22 AT D Plus is a single-gang decorator-style Dante® audio interface for integrating two mic/line sources onto a Dante-enabled audio system. It features two XLR audio inputs and switchable 48 volt phantom power for connecting and powering condenser microphones. Input gain, output attenuation and phantom power are remotely controlled. The AXI 22 AT D Plus also features two line outputs for routing any two Dante channels from the network to the analog input of a destination device, or connecting into an optional secondary wallplate with two XLR outputs.
The AXI 02 AT is a compact audio interface that extracts two channels from a Dante audio network to provide audio output from the network to devices without Dante connectivity. It features two line level analog outputs with a mirrored two-channel S/PDIF output. The AXI 02 AT includes a ZipClip® 100 Mounting Kit and is compatible with Extron Rack Shelves and ZipClip 200 mounting solutions.
Remotely Powered
For additional integration convenience, all the AXI Dante audio expansion interfaces can be remotely powered via Power over Ethernet - PoE, using Extron PI 115 power injectors or network switches equipped with PoE.

Application Diagram
Each room in this Dante-enabled multizone system utilizes an AXI Dante audio interface with audio DSP and power amplification located in a centralized equipment rack. The type and number of microphones needed per room is supported by AXI 44 AT, AXI 22 AT, and AXI 22 AT D Plus. The form factors of these interfaces provide flexible installation options based on the rooms’ layouts.
An XMP 240 handles all processing for each room with signal output via Dante. Receiving that output is a NetPA U 1004‑70V network power amplifier, driving ceiling and pendant speakers in each room, including the ability to have unique filters set per room in the amplifier’s integrated DSP. Additionally, the Meeting Room includes an AXI 02 AT which provides audio from the XMP 240 to the SB 33 A sound bar in that room.
