Full Interoperability between 1G and 10G infrastructures
The only solution featuring seamless, complete interoperability between 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps devices, NAV leverages the PURE3® codec to stream video from 1 Gbps encoders to 10 Gbps decoders or reduces bitrates from 10 Gbps encoders for decoding by 1 Gbps decoders.

SmartGlide™ KVM Workstation
NAV supports up to 8 displays in a 1XN to 2XM array controlled by a mouse and keyboard. SmartGlide KVM Switching enables automatic, fast, and seamless mouse and keyboard switching as the mouse glides from one workstation display to the next. NAV SmartGlide Focus optionally displays a border around the active display as the mouse glides from one display to the next. NAV also supports the extension of other USB 2.0 devices such as cameras and drives.
Manage from a single point
The NAVigator System Manager is a secure appliance required for the configuration, management, and control of NAV® Pro AV over IP systems. The user-friendly browser-based NAVigator allows users to simply and intuitively configure, monitor and control, backup and restore, run diagnostics, and troubleshoot NAV Systems from a single pane of glass. Entry level NAVigators support 16 endpoints and can expand with LinkLicense to manage up to 240 devices. Multiple NAVigators working together can support thousands of NAV endpoints.
Control securely
The highly secure NAV platform supports 802.1X port-based Network Access Control and Microsoft® Active Directory to simplify user management and group authentication, helping to maintain strong security policies. In addition, NAV supports SRTP - Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol, ensuring the encryption, message authentication, and data integrity of video and data streams.

The Extron PURE3 codec patented, wavelet-based, compression technology offers improved network resiliency. The PURE3 codec tolerates bursty network traffic found on converged networks while exceeding the performance characteristics of standards-based compression systems. Others rely on delicate third-party codecs that fail when exposed to unpredictable network traffic. Those codecs require costly isolated networks, but PURE3 is the ONLY codec designed for the Pro AV industry that delivers robust, pristine video on converged or isolated networks. With sub-frame latency, PURE3 processes video signals with 4:4:4 color quantization, while maintaining the original source quality and native resolution. PURE3 Intelligent Selective Streaming is an exclusive Extron technology that leverages periods of low motion in streamed content to enhance streaming performance. The PURE3 codec also features advanced error concealment, providing high immunity to network errors such as bit errors, jitter, and out-of-order, or dropped data packets. PURE3 error concealment provides robust picture delivery without the increased latency or bandwidth typically introduced by other error correction schemes.
Error Concealment
PURE3 offers improved network resiliency that ensures reliable transmission of high-quality imagery with the ability to conceal network errors caused by bursty network traffic found on converged networks. The decoder holds image data and presents it if needed, concealing missing information. PURE3 error concealment does not increase latency or add overhead like the error correction schemes used by competitors.

4:4:4 Chroma Sampling
HDMI up to 4K @ 60Hz (4096 x 2160) with full 4:4:4 chroma subsampling ensures accurate reproduction of source images with no loss of detail. Many competing AV over IP solutions use 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 chroma subsampling, which trades color detail for lower bitrates. Such chroma subsampling may be acceptable with full-motion video content, but often impacts the clarity of PC-generated content. NAV systems are a no-compromise solution that leverages the PURE3® codec to deliver both low bitrates and superior image quality.

Powerful Management Tools
The Extron NAVigator is a secure appliance required for the configuration, management, control, and troubleshooting of NAV Pro AV over IP systems. Use the intuitive browser-based NAVigator System Manager to configure, monitor and control, upgrade, backup and restore, run diagnostics, and troubleshoot. An entry level NAVigator system supports 16 endpoints and can grow as you need with LinkLicense that supports 48, 96, or 240 devices. Multiple NAVigators working together can support thousands of endpoints.
The NAVigator has two independent Ethernet ports to connect to both AV devices and a management LAN. This facilitates management and control from one network, while isolating AV devices on a separate AV over IP network. With Extron Pro Series control integration, the NAVigator acts as a centralized communication bridge for secure control of all attached devices. An optional NAVigator LinkLicense is available to enable third-party control of NAV systems. These third-party control systems can use SIS commands* to make and break NAV connections as well as other functions. However, Extron Pro Series control system integration with the NAVigator is required to control the Secure Platform Devices on NAV endpoints such as RS-232 and IR control ports. The NAVigator System Manager can be PoE powered over the network.
*The 3rd party control LinkLicense does not enable control of SPD devices.

NAV Commissioning Report
NAVigator provides a one-button Commissioning Report that collects important NAVigator and NAV Endpoint configuration and status information, and consolidates it into one report.
Simply add your project name, integrator, and consultant and press, “Create Report”. In seconds, the report can be reviewed, printed, or saved to a pdf. The Commissioning Report is extremely easy to use and saves hours of record keeping and typing while preventing errors and omissions.

Encrypted Communications
To protect sensitive information during transmission, NAVigator's web interface supports HTTPS - Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure. In addition, all communications between the NAVigator and endpoints is AES encrypted over SSH - Secure Shell protocol. To further enhance security, use of an Extron Pro Series control system safeguards every command sent over the network with full encryption from control processor to endpoint. With the NAVigator third-party control LinkLicense security is extended to the 3rd party control system utilizing the SSH protocol.

Pro Series Control
NAV endpoints have a built in Secure Platform Devices - SPD port for CEC, RS-232, and IR, effectively expanding Extron Pro Series control systems beyond the physical location of the control processor. This unique Extron feature eliminates the need for additional control processors by the endpoints. These NAV Secure Platform Devices ensure encrypted control of connected devices at any location. Extron Pro Series control system integration with the NAVigator is required to control the Secure Platform Devices on NAV endpoints and the third-party control LinkLicense does not enable control of SPD devices. NAV solutions are an ideal solution for any application requiring device control, flexible video and audio switching, and reliable transmission of high-quality content.
