1. Provide an ENERGY STAR qualified audio amplifier with low thermal dissipation that shall support four analog inputs and four amplified outputs with 400 watts rms per channel into low or high impedance systems.
   1. Audio power amplifier with 400 watts rms power output per channel and power sharing between adjacent odd/even channel pairs
      1. Input Requirements
         1. Shall support four, balanced or unbalanced line level signals on four 3-pole, 3.5 mm captive screw connectors
      2. Output Requirements
         1. Shall support four speaker level signals on four 2-pole, 5 mm screw-lock captive screw connectors
         2. Shall provide 400 watts rms per channel with all channels driven
         3. Shall provide 800 watts rms per channel with one channel driven per pair
         4. Shall support rear panel selection of individual channel output modes between 8 ohms, 4 ohms, or 70 volt or 100 volt operation
         5. Shall provide a signal-to-noise ratio of 100 dB measured from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, unweighted
         6. Shall provide a THD+N measurement of 0.1% measured at 1 kHz, at 3 dB below clipping
      3. Amplifier Requirements
         1. Shall utilize an efficient Class D amplifier design
         2. Shall provide an automatic clip limiter to detect onset of clipping by comparing input and output waveforms and automatically reduce gain without audible artifacts to eliminate clipping distortion
         3. Shall provide multiple protection circuits that activate during output shorts, thermal overload, or DC faults
         4. Shall provide power factor correction technology to remove harmonic content on the AC power line
      4. Power Requirements
         1. Shall draw 272 watts during typical (1/8 power) operation with all output channels equally driven with 4 ohm loads
         2. Shall draw 258 watts during typical (1/8 power) operation with all output channels driven with 8 ohm loads
         3. Shall draw 252 watts during typical (1/8 power) operation with all output channels driven in 70 volt mode
         4. Shall draw 245 watts during typical (1/8 power) operation with all output channels driven in 100 volt mode
         5. Shall draw 21.2 watts during quiescent operation
         6. Shall provide two low power standby modes
            1. By default, shall enter standby mode after 25 minutes (+/- 5 minutes) of inactivity
            2. When enabled, shall enter ECO Standby mode after less than 10 seconds of inactivity
            3. Shall draw less than 1 watt while in either standby mode
            4. Shall return to full power status in less than 5 milliseconds upon signal detection while in either standby mode
            5. Shall feature an input signal detection threshold of -65 dBu, +/- 3 dB on a balanced input to deactivate either standby mode
         7. Shall provide internal universal power supply with IEC power socket and support for international 100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz standards
      5. Control Requirements
         1. Shall support remote standby control on a 3.5 mm captive screw connector
      6. Front Panel Requirements
         1. Shall provide an LED for power indication that lights green when the unit is receiving power and active, and lights amber when the unit is in standby mode
         2. Shall provide a red LED for indication of the enclosure temperature exceeding the optimal value
         3. Shall provide green LEDs for input signal presence indication
         4. Shall provide red LEDs for indication of clip warning and protection circuit activation
      7. Rear Panel Requirements
         1. Shall provide four inputs on four 3-pole, 3.5 mm captive screw connectors
         2. Shall provide four outputs on four 2-pole, 5 mm screw-lock captive screw connectors
            1. Shall support 22 AWG to 12 AWG speaker cables
         3. Shall provide remote standby control port on one 2-pole 3.5 mm captive screw connector that supports standby defeat with the insertion of included 10k ohm resistor or ECO Standby with the insertion of included 3.3 kΩ resistor
         4. Shall provide recessed, detented potentiometers with laser etched position indicators for attenuation adjustment
         5. Shall provide one output mode select rotary switch per channel that selects between 4 ohm, 8 ohm, 70 volt, 70 volt (HPF OFF), 100 volt, and 100 volt (HPF OFF)
         6. Shall provide green LEDs for input signal presence indication
         7. Shall provide red LEDs for indication of clip warning and protection circuit activation
      8. General Requirements
         1. Shall be enclosed in a rack-mountable 1U, full rack width metal enclosure
         2. Shall include rear rack mount hardware
         3. Shall meet regulatory compliances
            1. Shall meet compliances under CE, CEC, CISPR 22 Class B, C-tick, c-UL, European Code of Conduct, FCC Class B, ICES, RoHS, UL, VCCI Class B, UL 62368-1, IEC 62368-1, and EN 62368-1 for AV equipment
            2. ENERGY STAR qualified amplifier
            3. Shall comply with appropriate requirements of EU code of conduct, RoHS, and WEEE
         4. Shall provide three year parts and labor product warranty
         5. Shall provide seven year parts and labor power supply warranty
   2. Approved device shall be the Extron XPA U 4004 FX, part number 60-2034-01; no alternates or equals.
